ITM 211 Service Psychology
(3 credits)
This course explores the psychological concepts
and theories related to the service industry; human relations for
services and factors that influence the service satisfaction are
explored. Applications of psychological theories to improve the
service process are also investigated.
ITM 222 Cross Cultural Communication Skills
(3 credits)
This course explores the various forms of
communication skills based on cultural differences with the
aim to improve the students’ confidence and personality to
achieve professionalism in the tourism industry. Skills studied
include introducing oneself, social etiquettes, personality
development, and public speaking skills.
ITM 223 Tourist Behavior
(3 credits)
This course explores the key factors influencing
tourist behaviors, tourist decision making process, different
tourist behaviors in various countries, regions, and cultures,
and tourist behavior trends with the aim to develop the
appropriate strategies to serve the demands of the tourists.
ITM 224 Human Resource Management
(3 credits)
A study of human resource management concepts
and practices in the tourism industry including manpower
planning, recruitment and selection process, training and
development of human resources, team working, performance
evaluation, benefits and welfare management, incentive,
workforce relation and related employment laws.
ITM 311 Laws and Professional Ethics for
Tourism Industry
(3 credits)
This course aims to provide knowledge about law
and regulations related to the tourism business including tax
law, custom law, transportation law, and environmental law
along with ethics of entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.
ITM 321 Information Technology for Tourism Industry (3 credits)
Prerequisite: IIT 201 or Dean’s Approval
This course provides knowledge about information technology
system and database management related to the tourism business with the application of ready-made computer programs.
The study is hands-on in the computer lab.
ITM 212 World Geography for Tourism
(3 credits)
This course provides the overview of Thailand and
the Global geography, landscape characteristics, climate zones,
and ethnic groups. The correlation between the geographical
conditions and tourism management in both local and international
tourism destinations especial y in the natural-based destinations,
historical destinations, and livelihoods are explored in order to
effectively plan the tourism development accordingly.
