IEN 103 Critical Reading (3 credits) Emphasis on applying critical inquiry skills to varied and challenging reading materials, including analysis, synthesis, and evaluation through written discourse. IEN 104 College Writing (3 credits) This course is designed to help students develop their writing, reading, and thinking skills. Emphasis is on the writing process. Through inventing and elaborating ideas, drafting, revising, and editing, students write in a variety of contexts for a variety of purposes. These purposes include description, narration, exposition, and argumentation.
