ITM 331 Internship I
(3 credits)
Prerequisite: ITM 312 or Dean’s Approval
Students apply the studied theories to their practicum
training at tourism related industries both in the domestic or
overseas organization under the College’s approval. Students
hours. The internship is under the faculty’s supervision and
evaluated by both the faculty and training organization. Students
are required to submit an internship report after finishing the
internship.
Cooperative Education Track
CO 301 Pre-Cooperative Education
(3 credits)
The study of the concept behind the cooperative education system and the development of readiness and
various capabilities such as job application letter writing,
employer screening, job interview techniques, communication
skil improvement, personality, teamwork, organizational culture,
creative thinking techniques, report writing and presentation
techniques, as well as entrepreneurship skil s, recommended
practices at work and workplace safety.
ITM 422 Cooperative Education
(6 credits)
Prerequisite: CO 301
The study of actual working processes in a real-world
establishment in the capacity of an employee to prepare the
student for future careers in the most systemic manner possible. The student wil be assigned to a full-time position at an
establishment for a minimum period of one educational term
or sixteen weeks. The job is one of quality which offers the
possibility of relevant work-integrated learning or project-based
learning and contributes to the benefit of the entity. The student
wil be evaluated for their performance by the faculty and the
establishment. As well, the student wil be required to deliver a
report summarizing their performance following the conclusion
of their cooperative education work assignment.
Internship Track
ITM 414 Career Preparation for Tourism Industry
(3 credits)
Prerequisite: ITM 312 or Dean’s Approval
This course aims to prepare students to be equipped
with necessary working skil s including job selection based on
personal characteristics, job interview preparation, personality
development, job application process and good practice for
industry are invited to share their knowledge and experiences
in this course.
ITM 421 Internship II
(6 credits)
Prerequisite: Passed ITM 331 or Dean’s Approval
Advanced practicum training for students to apply
the studied theories and experience from Internship I to the
real working situation in tourism related industries both in a
domestic or overseas organization under the College’s
approval. Students are trained for a minimum of one semester
supervision and evaluated by both the faculty and training
organization. Students are required to submit an internship
report along with a tourism business development project after
finishing the internship.
