Irresistible Website Copy

You have a website for your business . You have text ( aka “ copy ”) on said website . But does your ideal customer give a shit ? When they read are they squealing with delight that they ’ ve finally found you ? Are they whipping out their wallets in eager anticipation of buying your stuff ?

If you aren ’ t nodding your head YES to the above questions , then your copy isn ’ t doing it ’ s job . Mediocre copy isn ’ t going to build your brand or make people fall in love with your business . That means that your crappy copy is making you miss out on sales .
As I tell my community often , you don ’ t have to be the next Hemingway or J . K . Rowlings to craft great copy for your business . Your website isn ’ t meant to make the best seller ’ s list for prose .
Here are a few simple tips you can use to write website copy that makes your customers excited to buy what you ’ re selling .

3 TIPS FOR WRITING IRRE- SISTIBLE WEBSITE COPY :
1 . Focus on clarity .
Does your copy make sense ? Is it immediately clear what you do , who you serve , and how you help make your customers ’ lives better ?
This is hands-down the most important aspect of good copy . If your reader gets confused , they will click away ( there are thousands of cute cat videos just waiting to be watched ).
Things that take away from clarity include lengthy text , too many ideas on a single page , and vague language .
Don ’ t be afraid to pare down the copy on your website pages , and make sure each page is focused : your Home Page is an overview of you and your work , your About Page is more in depth , and your Services Page includes details about how you help people with your badass offerings .
Use plenty of specific examples and ideas that make it obvious who your work is designed to help . You don ’ t have to appeal to people who aren ’ t a good fit for your offerings .
2 . Use your ideal customer ’ s language .
Nothing will get someone excited to spend money more than landing on a website and having their thoughts appear on the page .
OMG , that ’ s totally me ! How did she know ?!
You want your ideal customers to wonder how you could possibly have read their minds and described their situation to a T .
Don ’ t worry , it doesn ’ t require any voodoo magic or telepathy to get inside the heads of your dream customers .
You can achieve this simply by having real life conversations with them , asking questions , taking notes , and using their words
