I took that to heart and I went home and thought what was I really doing to my health that was so bad . I thought about what my typical days were like . I sat down and wrote some notes on what a typical day was like for me .
I would stop at Dunkin Donuts in the morning before going to work and would get 2-3 donuts and a large coffee with cream and 4 sugars . I would go home for lunch but I just had to stop at McDonald ’ s and get a double cheeseburger with super-size fries and a Coke . On my way back to work , I would stop back at Dunkin Donuts and buy a large Coolatta . After work , when I was cooking dinner , I would eat a bag of chips ( I can ’ t even look at a bag of chips now !).
I was self-medicating myself with major junk food and was not even aware of what I was doing - I literally had no clue ! After dinner , I would have a bowl of ice cream with hot fudge . Even after I wrote what I ate in a day , I thought well that is not so bad .
It wasn ’ t until later that evening when I had my aha moment . I didn ’ t recognize the woman looking back at me in the mirror . I walked back in the kitchen and threw away the rest of the bag of Lays potato chips .
The next day , I joined Planet Fitness . I lost just about 10 pounds and then I joined Jenny Craig and lost a little 103 pounds !
I really wanted to share my message in the hope that any woman or man reading this will know there is life after super-size . There is hope , you can do this with this and there is help out there ! It takes time , dedication and a whole lot of love and respect for yourself . YOU are a badass and being a badass at my age is awesome !
Healthy is the new wealthy because when you have your health , you have everything !
