Don ’ t Let Your Self Care Slip

by Alison Hurman

As a badass boss babe who is grabbing life by the gonads , you MUST look after your biggest asset , YOU ! Your badass self , is everything ! You are number one , numero uno . Without you , your business would crash and burn , therefore it is VITAL that you look after yourself to make sure that you do not crash and burn .

It is far too easy to forget this and let your self-care slip further down your to do lists , especially when business gets busy ! This is exactly when you need to REALLY look after yourself . You may have a decent enough routine of looking after yourself most of the time but when your diary gets demanding ; I bet you ditch the gym , neglect your nutrition and grab the takeaways .
There is a reason why your self care is the first thing to go out the window when schedules get silly ; they ’ re not ingrained into you as solid , non-negotiable habits ! BUT I have got the solution to make sure that YOU are ALWAYS your
47 top priority ! Building solid habits can be difficult . You may declare to yourself that you will , from this day forth , eat healthy , go to the gym daily etc . When you proclaim to yourself that you are changing forever , that is massive ! You ’ re over facing yourself and setting yourself up for failure from the start , regardless of how good your intentions are .
You ’ re making the molehill into a mountain before you ’ ve even started trying to climb !
On busy days you will just slip into “ I ’ ll just do it tomorrow ” mode , because when you have set the infinity goal there is no immediate importance on it as you believe that you can just start over again tomorrow . You ‘ plan ’ on doing it for the rest of your life so what is one more day off hey ?
Here ’ s the solution ; An ancient spiritual practice , the Sadhana ; Traditionally a Sadhana ’ s can be found in religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism , but essentially it is just a 40 day challenge !
You do not need to be religious or spiritual in any way to take on a Sadhana . The idea behind a Sadhana is that it takes approximately 30 / 35 days to create habitual nature , meaning that if you commit to doing something for 40 days straight ; it will change your habits because it ingrains them into you . It becomes a part of who you are then it becomes difficult to stop doing it .
Traditional Sadhana ’ s involved getting up hours before the sunrises , cold showers , Neti ( AKA nasal rinsing – not recommended FYI ), meditation , journaling , chanting , hours of yoga , pranayama ( breath work ), mantra reciting and fasting ! EVERY SINGLE DAY !
But I ’ ve brought the Sadhana into the 21st Century ! No nose washing required ! My Sadhana ’ s are completely personal and there is no set “ thing ” to do , you design your Sadhana to suit your needs and to benefit you .
All you need to do for this 21st
