RAISING ASPIRATIONS INSPIRING ACHIEVEMENT INCREASING OPPORTUNITIES Context We work with key stakeholders such as employers, local authorities and universities to deliver the ambitions of the Scottish Government’s economic and education policies to deliver world class vocational education. Our curriculum planning is based on the review of information that we gather from engagement with our teams and key stakeholders as well as Labour Market Intelligence such as the Regional Skills Assessment (RSA) and Skills Investment Plans (SIP’s). Our Outcome Agreement with the Scottish Funding Council sets out clearly the targets that we should meet to deliver The Right Learning in the Right Place High Quality and Efficient Learning A Developed Workforce Efficient Regional Structure A Sustainable Institution Our drive is to reduce the impact of the inequalities that exist within our communities. We work with young people and those furthest from the labour market to engage with learning by promoting equality and diversity. Our activity supports the economic ambitions for Ayrshire by developing skills for our future and existing workforce. We focus on key sectors for Ayrshire while also recognising the skills required by the wider national and global sectors. The key sectors for Ayrshire include engineering, hospitality and care while examples of wider skills requirements are those within computing and digital technologies. The contents of this learning and teaching strategy demonstrates how we will fulfil this ambition and our vision for our students.
