VW shifts focus to electric vehicles in new strategy
It ’ s been a tough two years for the Volkswagen Group , dealing with the ‘ Diesel Gate ’ fiasco where VW admitted rigging emission tests in some of its vehicles . They may be down but they are certainly not out . This unfortunate incident might have led to change in its strategic direction . They have now firmly set their sights on the future development of electric vehicles , the connected car and autonomous driving . Volkswagen unveiled the ‘ Vision e Concept ’ at the Paris International Motorshow . This electric vehicle promises a driving range of 600km , is fully autonomous and has connective car technologies . Production is planned to begin in 2020 and they intend to build at least 1 million vehicles in the first five years . They are building a new , a better , and an even stronger Volkswagen . VW want to thrill they customers with fascinating vehicles and innovative mobility solutions , to be a technology leader and role model when it comes to the environment , safety and integrity . With their “ TOGETHER – Strategy 2025 ” future program , the Volkswagen Group has launched the biggest change process in its history . This new thinking led them to Africa and Kenya specifically .

Jaguar looks at an electrified future with the I-Pace
British Sports car marque Jaguar has jumped in to the electric car bandwagon with its I-Pace electric SUV . Powered by two 90 KWH motors , the I-Pace can accelerate from 0-100km / h in 4 seconds and has a 500 Kilometre range between charges . Jaguar says the vehicle shall be ready for production in the second quarter of 2018 . This electric vehicle will deliver 700Nm instant torque , 400PS and 0-60mph in around 4 seconds .
