Land Rover ensure the new Discovery is worth waiting for
The fourth generation Discovery will arrive in Kenya just after the next General Elections in 2017 . It is 480kgs lighter and yet safer and stronger than the model it replaces . This is thanks to the platform shares with its siblings the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport , adopting advanced aluminium construction . It is also 14cm longer , seats a little lower than its predecessor . For the first time Land Rover will introduce the more efficient 2.0 4-cylinder Ingenium engine capable of 237bhp and 500Nm of torque with its 8 speed gearbox .
In addition the twin turbocharged 3.0L Diesel V6 capable of 255bhp and 600Nm will be on duty as well as the supercharged V6 petrol unit capable of 335bhp and an impressive 450Nm to complete the engine line up . Land Rover will introduce the latest Terrain Response 2 system that enhances the off-road credentials of the Land Rover Discovery . Nissan Navara Nirvana
Nissan Kenya are certainly looking forward to the introduction of the new Navara pickup in the later part of 2017 . Designed to compete with the industry leaders , the Isuzu D-Max , Toyota Hilux and popular Ford Ranger , the new Navara will come loaded with innovative features like a five link rear coil spring system that replaces the traditional and sturdy leaf spring , Nissan ’ s adaptive torque sensing four wheel drive system linked to a 7-speed gearbox and a long list of creature comforts . These include dual-zone automatic climate control , satellite navigation , Xenon lamps and 6 airbags in the higher spec version . Will it make steal the thunder from some the rival brands that have enjoyed its late entry ? We cannot wait to find out .
