One Shelley Street
Nishi Building
Frank Gehry ’ s Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at the University of Technology Sydney , which has been called the world ’ s most beautiful crushed paper bag , was executed by a multi-disciplined team that pushed the design to its structural limits . The undulating façade required five custom-made types of brick , while the amorphous floor plates and sloping columns tested even the most battle-hardy builders .
Canberra ’ s Nishi Building , with its jaw-dropping timber staircase , plant-lined timber façade and achingly-cool interiors , has got rave reviews as far afield as the New York Times and outshone buildings around the world to win International Project of the Year at the 2015 Building Awards in London .
One Central Park on Sydney ’ s Broadway , with its living tapestry of plants , flowers and vines and the one-of-its-kind heliostat that catches and disperses daylight – has been named the world ’ s best tall building .
Sydney ’ s One Shelley Street , with its eye-catching diagrid façade that graces international architecture magazines , 480 Queen Street with its elevated public park and rooftop tree grove , Forté in Melbourne , currently the tallest timber high rise apartments in the world – the list goes on .
Each of these buildings has one thing in common : they each have achieved Green Star ratings .
Each of these buildings stands as a bricks-and-mortar demonstration
