Lovers....

Once upon a time there were two sentient beings. Their beginning is another story, as is their meeting. But, they existed and found each other and grew together in life’s eternal love. Their mating was the moon and the stars;their time together brought fruits from the earth and joyous song in the sky. Rays of sunshine followed them, asdid dark days. Two people so much in love knew each others thoughts, heard each others hopes and dreams, sang of each othersjoys and sorrow, until they were almost one being. They were guided by instinct and taught by the sages of time as they passed and the world around them aged and moved with each season. But they stayed the same in each others eyes, each step that one made was reflected in the other. Eons went by and in that short time the path they walked became worn, the feet they used to find their way became weary. Taking each other’s hand, the couple looked to their guide and spoke to their teacher and knew itwas time for a parting. For a few ages, one danced in daylight and the other danced in the dark, eternally lashed together by the strong ropes of their abiding love. The wear between them began to show and shadows crept in where once there wasalways spark and rainbows. Their guide’s movements became hard to see and their teacher’s words hard to hear.As they traveled, the mountain became steeper and more difficult to climb. The sun dimmed and their eyes looked up instead of at each other. Dark clouds hovered between them so their eyes could never meet and their lips werefar apart and touch was only a dream in a perfect garden.
