*If you are using a regular phone hopefully it will have a mute button. Just remember, every sound that happens in your room will be heard by the listeners.

*If you live somewhere that has poor phone quality, you should opt for Skype. Crackles and “line noise” will affect the sound quality of the show. These sounds cannot be edited out.

Phones that are “digital” quality are the clearest.

Some older computers cannot handle Skype and the Blog Talk Radio Chat Room being run at the same time. This all has to do with processing, RAM – and other technical things. If you are not running a computer with fast processing it’s possible that there will be a “whirring” sound or your sound may “break up” or “fade” in and out. If you have an older computer you may want to opt for calling in instead of Skype.

Never try to use Skype and BTR with “dial up”.

When using Skype and BTR together, High Speed Internet will ensure better sound and less freezing up of your system.
