Challenges
» Not taking a hard sell approach. Instead, we aimed to engage members and
potential ACUK14 delegates
» Getting the conversation started – There hadn’t been much engagement on the
Associations Network Twitter at all, so building that up was a challenge.
» #AskAssns – building enough momentum for this to run successfully which, for a
first trial, went well
Battling with the Twitter account of @AssnsCongress which has been inactive since
November 2014. However, as it has the same logo and similar Twitter handle, some

Success factors
Results
Constant monitoring of Twitter both before, during and after ACUK14 was essential
as the updates let attendees to the congress, and other people around the world,
know what was happening before the event regarding speakers, schedule and
exhibitors. At ACUK14 we could live tweet the different streams, along with details
of the webcasts and twitter chats, which led to increased engagement.
» Increased Twitter following by 185 new followers
» Average number of visitors to the website per month via social media = 52
» Reach of audience since SocialB take over = 93%
» Reach for the #AskAssns Twitter chat – 22,749 Twitter accounts reached, great
for a niche area for a first chat
» 42% increase in Retweets
» 92% increase in Twitter mentions
