Bruce Carrington Tropical Deco Bruce ’ s “ Tropical Deco Motif Collection ” captures the various shapes , forms & designs created by notable Art Deco architects during the 1920-1940 ’ s era . This unique form of
Art Deco architecture was created in Miami Beach and incorporates floral and fauna motifs as well as nautical themes . Palm trees , flamingos , pelicans , shells , sea creatures , ocean liner icons from the 1920 ’ s were originally utilized . He has compiled one of the largest photographic collections of South Beach architectural ornamentation in collaboration with Mareen Carrington , post- production artist and curator of the collection .

Andy was awarded two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts for the Miami Beach Project . Andy ’ s work and life ended far too soon . The Andy Sweet Photo Legacy Project is now working to restore Andy ’ s original images and bring his work to new audiences .

It was where he grew up , and where he recognized a unique time in our history , when the Jewish residents of Miami Beach brought their cultural touchstones with them . They converted hotels into makeshift synagogues , supported each
