AT&T Stadium Art Tours All Arlington ISD fifth graders experienced a unique and exciting field trip thanks to the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation – a private tour of the art displayed at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. This educational tour helps to promote visual literacy and elevates students to a higher level of thinking when it comes to art. Students explore the process the artist followed to create the work of art, how combining images and text can create multiple interpretations, what roles are involved in making artwork come to life, and how creating and studying art is a career opportunity. Throughout the tour, students are asked to speculate, compare, interpret and communicate the artists’ intentions or motivation in creating the artwork. This one-of-a-kind docent-led tour is part of an amazing partnership between the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation and the AISD. After the field trip, each class will create a thematic piece of art that aligns with the tour and focuses on visual literacy and their interpretation of what it means to be an artist. In May, one piece from each campus will be selected to be displayed at AT&T Stadium. Arlington School & Family 43
