Bailey Junior High After having to be rescheduled from its original dates in February to March 20 and 21 due to the inclement weather, theater art students at Bailey Junior High performed Legally Blonde the Musical. The troupe took the delay in their performances in stride, continuing to rehearse daily for what turned out to be a great show. The audition process for students began in November and rehearsals began in December. Rehearsals took place every day for two hours after school. A choreographer was hired to teach dances for the musical numbers. The Bailey Junior High theater department began producing plays in the 1980s under the direction of Ouida Garner. The current directors are Katy Wells and Amanda Holder. Both Wells and Holder attended Bailey Junior High and were theater arts students under the direction of Garner. They had such a wonderful experience that when each was offered an opportunity to return to Bailey as teachers, they jumped at the chance. Wells and Holder have directed six musicals together over the years including Bye Bye Birdie, A Night at the Wax Museum, Mirror Image, High School Musical, Footloose and Legally Blonde. † June/July 2015 - Arlington School & Family 21
