Hale Elementary Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance By Windy Williams, Family Engagement Liaison GT Project Showcase By Sarah McMurrough, GT Lead Teacher Another great event held was the Gifted and Talented Project Showcase on March 17. Hale Elementary’s gifted and talented students proudly presented their original projects to families, teachers, staff and peers. The Hale library housed 24 projects created by the GT students, with each project set up browse-style for attendees to enjoy. The gifted and talented students dressed to impress, thoughtfully presenting as visitors viewed the projects. Notable creations included original songs written and performed by first graders, utopian destinations designed by third graders, and invention/start-up company exhibitions produced by fourth graders. The fourth-grade projects doubled as 2015 Entrepreneurship Contest entries. On Feb. 12, Hale Elementary held its annual Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart dance. Dedicated teachers and staff, PTA members, and Student Council members transformed the cafeteria into a wonderland. Adorned in princess-style attire, girls were escorted by their debonair fathers or father figures. Some girls were escorted by their mothers, not wanting to have their daughters miss out on this great event. Everyone felt special as they entered the room. More than 250 girls, guests an
