2015 TCU Community Scholars
Eight Sam Houston High School seniors were awarded
a $250,000 TCU Community Scholars scholarship in a
surprise visit to their campus. Congratulations to Chinedu
Akpom, My Thuy Diem Nguyen, Oluwatimilehin Ijabiken,
Sam Luke, Obed Sanchez, Edwin Tachiri, Nga Thanh Thi
Tran and Michael Tran for earning this great honor.

Houston is one of 11 area schools that participate in the
TCU Community Scholars Program, and this year 40
scholarships will be awarded to students who must go
through the normal application process for admission
to TCU, plus complete extra essays and interviews to be
accepted into the program. †

The $250,000 scholarship will finance four years of
undergraduate studies, including room and board. Sam
