Students and staff at Pope Elementary celebrated Kindness Week with peace , love and hippie outfits .
Players from the Texas Rangers made use of the multi-purpose activity center at Arlington High School to get in their workout .
Superintendent Dr . Cavazos , Board President Jamie Sullins and Board Members Kristen Hudson and Bowie Hogg were able to meet with the Arlington delegation and Senate Education Chair Larry Taylor to discuss AISD and public education priorities for the 85th legislative session .
Patrick Elementary sixth graders played members of the Grand Prairie Police Department in basketball , starting a new tradition at the school .
Air Force Chief Master Sgt . Harrington , Col . Woods and Brig . Gen . Garland visited the Newcomer Center Dragons for an awards ceremony to honor the Texas 31st of the Air Force Junior ROTC . Senior Master Sgt . Willie was also honored for being an outstanding instructor .
