Campus News Seguin High School A Distinction Above the Rest Seguin High School proves that hard work can pay off. They recently earned six out of seven distinctions, which is part of the new rating system in Texas. Schools used to be categorized as unsatisfactory, satisfactory, recommended and exemplary. Now schools are ranked as Met Standard, Met Alternative Standard or Improvement Required and can also earn distinctions for additional accomplishments. Seguin High School is the only high school in the Arlington ISD to receive six out of seven distinctions. These accomplishments are a direct result of the students’ and teachers’ dedication and hard work. A comparison between 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 distinctions: 2013-2014: 5 out of 6 distinctions in the following areas: • Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts • Academic Achievement in Mathematics • Academic Achievement in Science • Academic Achievement in Social Studies • Top 25 Percent
