196 Arctic Yearbook 2014 • • • Ensure that membership in such bodies secures equal representation and participation for women and Indigenous peoples, to be chosen via non-governmental civil society organizations; Make binding commitments to using governance authority via multilateral treaties to require state members to secure gender and Indigenous women’s equality in all laws, practices, and programs as required by the ICCPR, CEDAW, and other human rights treaties, and implemented consistent with the Beijing Platform for Action; and Make binding commitments to using governance authority via multilateral treaties to prioritize environmentally sustainable resource and economic development combined with use of resource revenues to fund investment in durable forms of human development and physical capital.
