LynCon Construction: History and current operational approach towards contracting in the building industry L ynCon Construction initially began its operations as Project Managers in 2001 in the luxury residential market. However, twelve years ago we changed our strategy to focus on the commercial market. Taking into account our valuable network of Architects, Engineers, Quantity surveyors and sub-contractors, as well as our vast experience and expertise, valuable opportunities arose so we took the plunge and subsequently we have been exposed to various contracts and gained enormous invaluable experience in the construction of Office Blocks, Shopping Centers, Motor Dealerships and Industrial Warehouses. We have also undertaken numerous alterations and additions to existing buildings, where in most cases the building work had to be constructed whilst the tenant was in occupation; not an easy task at all. Growth Although LynCon is going through a massive growth cycle, we believe that growth should be controlled to maintain quality, achieve program target dates and support our own people in their personal growth. We draw on the experience of our subcontractors that were exposed to bigger projects, while not losing track of 1 the personal relationships with our clients and professional teams. The company successfully signed up a BEE deal with a 100% black owned company in 2010. Our BEE partner has pledged their support to LynCon enabling it to remain a competitive and successful Construction Company. LynCon’s current BEE Scorecard is a Level 4 contributor; it is our undertaking to improve our status to at least a Level 3. Professional Approach All Gauteng contractors deal with the same Clients, Professional Teams, Material Suppliers and Subcontractors in the building industry but we believe that LynCon offers a superior professional approach to the construction process, and take pride in delivering quality to the client at all times. There is no doubt that LynCon is big enough to deliver greater value on contracts, but still small enough for personal attention and hands on involvement. Company Culture & Expertise Occupational Health and Safety is a very high priority at LynCon and this approach enables them to deliver quality building projects safely, on time.
