The Worst
Things
You Can
Tell Yourself
3
by Rachel Tipton
I
magine for a moment that
you are the coach of your
child’s soccer team. It’s just before
an important game against some
intimidating competition. What
types of things would you say
to the kids to encourage them?
Would it sound like this:
You aren’t good enough.
You’re too slow.
You can’t possibly win.
No way you would say that, right?
It would discourage the kids and
they would not play their best.
You would be setting them up for
failure. So, my question to you is
what kind of internal coaching are
you giving yourself?
