Spring is here!
Itβs the season of new beginnings when trees begin to bud,
new plants start to sprout and baby birds hatch.
Spring is also a time for new beginnings in the eyewear industry.
Many companies launch new frames, sunglasses and lenses this
time of year. Firms also debut new technologies and
advertising campaigns.
This issue of Optical Prism is all about new things.
Included in these pages is a cheery pictorial featuring new
frames in the colours of nature. Pantone, which chooses a colour
of the year each December, also predicts which hues will be trend-
ing each spring. This year, the organization says colours inspired
by Mother Nature β including shades of the sun, sky, grass, trees
and water β will be hot this spring.
We also learn about some of the new products that can be found
in optical shops this spring β from luxury frames and celebrity-
inspired and endorsed eyewear to the latest in premium lenses.
Speaking of new, our cover feature is on Coco and Breezy, rising
stars in the eyewear industry. Twin sisters Corianna and Brianna
Dotson began making frames in their bedroom. They've earned
