The 2013-2014 Season began with “The Return,” a Beatles tribute concert onSeptember 14th. The audience grooved and moved to their music. On November 19, the Arts Council and the Pine Forest Garden Club sponsored local writer and naturalist Janisse Ray speaking about her new book, The Seed Underground: A Growing Revolution to Save Food. She provided free seeds for the audience as well as much valuable information. “Titans of Rock,” featuring tributes to Journey and Bon Jovi, appeared on stage on January 25, 2014. The Spring Arts and Handcrafts Show took place on April 7-18 at Interstate Credit Union and exhibited the talents of local artists. The ACAC works hard year round to entertain the people with quality events at low or no cost. Christmas 2013, featured one of the most popular of the ACAC’s productions in the fifteen years of its operation. Jeff Lewis, talented organist and musician, organized and presented on December 21st “In This Very Room,” a celebration of Christmas music in the “cathedral acoustics” of the old City Gym. He even moved to the gym a digital organ which reproduces sampled sounds from great pipe organs stored in its computers rather than using actual pipes to produce its sounds.
