• September 2016 – Officers Leticia Brooks and Michael Bali received the Star of Texas Award by Governor Greg Abbott . Officer Brooks received the award due to a car crash that she was involved in 2006 while on duty . Officer Bali received the award after being shot in the line of duty in 2015 .
• October 2016 - The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education awarded Sgt . VaNessa Harrison with the Media Person of the Year Award and Officer Tonia Crutcher with the Woman of the Year Award .
• October 2016 – Deputy Police Chief LaTesha Watson was selected as top-40 law enforcement leader under the age of 40 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police .
