AORE Association News December 2016 | Page 4

From the Executive Director

December brings with it the holiday season filled with celebrations, reflections on the past year, time with friends, family or loved ones. In this time of giving, I wanted to end the year with my thankfulness of the many gifts AORE staff provide to serve and advance our association and you, the membership.

AORE staff cover a myriad of job responsibilities and regardless if they are part-time, full-time, volunteer or contractor, each individual provides their time and talents. Working for a non-profit requires immense amounts of patience, hard work and flexibility, and I am consistently amazed with the many ways each member contributes.

Emily Thomas’ consistent and demonstrated professionalism continues to attract new partnerships, relationships, and members who either contribute or find value in AORE. Emily continues to increase the membership experience, including navigating the website and technology transition that better allows members to serve themselves and their communities with programs and services that are relevant and impactful.

Meghan Sullivan contributed poignant and timely communications including increases in social media, and new marketing and branding efforts to introduce and engage new populations with the work of the association.

Aaron Wolowiec continues to bring intentional adult learning strategies to implementation, powerful facilitation and transfer of volunteer ideas to reality, and impeccable attention to event design and delivery. Supported by Cally, Kate, and Jenny, the Event Garde team is allowing members to better learn, network and transfer in all aspects of the annual conference that has increased AORE’s value proposition.
