Georgia Correctional Industries More than 1,200 inmates participate each work day in 25 GCI factories and farms, representing more than one million man hours in FY 2015. There are currently 394 inmates enrolled in more than 80 on-the-job-training (OJT) certificate programs, supported by the Technical College System of Georgia. • Created new Business Development Sales team to concentrate on larger accounts and State Contractor. • Implemented tablet technology for all delivery drivers to capture electronic signatures for proof of delivery. • Harvested the second largest potato crop in Food and Farm history - 94,178 cases. • Reached agreement with Department of Revenue (DOR) to start producing license plates again. Production will start in FY 2016. GCI last produced license plates for DOR in 2009. Equipment was purchased and building was designed in FY 2015 to produce digital plates. • Converted 13 staff dining operations from GDC self-operated to GCI operations. (Georgia, Rogers, Central, Dodge, Augusta State Medical, Lee, Valdosta, Telfair, Washington, Johnson, Dooly, Smith, and Calhoun State Prisons). • Replaced dairy processing room floor. • Replaced dairy chiller unit. • Submitted application and received approval for Prison Industries Enhancement Certificate for the production of metal products at Walker SP metal plant.
