PROMOTING A HEALTHY COMMUNITY
This past May the Carlos Rosario School hosted
its first Health and Wellness Fair in partnership
with DC United and UniteDC Coalition. The
event drew more than 500 students, staff and
community members. Over 20 partners offered
health screenings, Zumba dancing, bike safety
information, nutrition tips, and much more. Among
the special guests present was DC United player
Luis Silva and mascot Talon. “This was a huge
success thanks to the participation of students and
community partners that came to provide information
services and increase awareness about being healthy,”
said Mirna Amaya, Dean of Community Relations and
Student Services.
