Supportive Services Overview The Supportive Services Department offers its services in four major languages: English, Spanish, Amharic, and Vietnamese. The Department provides development opportunities to the student body and serves as a bridge to student success within the larger DC community. The key mission-related support services offered to the School’s students include: •Individual bilingual counseling •Job/vocational counseling and placement •Job readiness workshops •Financial aid assistance/Scholarships for higher education •Childcare and health referrals •Life skills workshops •Volunteer opportunities •Extracurricular activities: Computer for Beginners, Math Club, Spelling/Vocabulary, etc. •Student government and leadership program A student is having her BMI measured at the Health Fair. Walgreens offers free flu shots for students during the winter flu season. A student is having her blood pressure tested at the health fair.
