The following scholarships were awarded to our students at the School’s Recognition Ceremony in June
Robert E. Lesher Scholarship
Sheryl Sherwin, a Carlos Rosario School faculty member,
awarded a $2,000 scholarship in honor of her father, Robert E. Lesher.
Joanna Gray & Perry Wayne Hitchcock Scholarship
Sherrie McKenna, a Carlos Rosario School faculty member,
awarded a $2,000 scholarship in honor of her parents,
Joanna Gray and Perry Wayne Hitchcock.
Edna Frazier Cromwell Scholarship Fund
The Board of the Edna Frazier Cromwell Scholarship Fund awarded
a Carlos Rosario School student a $2,000 scholarship.
Jim Graham Alumni Scholarship Recipient
Maria Antonia Ortiz-Haddock Memorial Scholarship
Hector Torres and Jay Haddock of Capital Hotels & Suites
awarded two scholarships totaling $2,200.
Hotel Association of the District of Columbia Scholarship
The Hotel Association of DC awarded a Carlos Rosario School student a $750 scholarship.
Carlos Rosario Staff/Faculty Scholarship
The Carlos Rosario Staff/Faculty Scholarship Fund awarded a $1,600 scholarship to a Carlos Rosario School student.
More than 20 staff and faculty members donated to the fund through payroll deduction agreements.
Jim Graham Alumni Scholarship
Councilmember Jim Graham awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a Carlos Rosario School alumnus.
Tempo Bookstore Scholarship
Eugene Lesmez, the owner of Tempo Bookstore, awarded a $3,000 scholarship to a Carlos Rosario School student.
Luis & Olga Torres Scholarship
Sonia Gutierrez, CEO & Founder of the Carlos Rosario School, awarded a $1,000 scholarship in honor of her parents,
Luis & Olga Torres.
Mary Reed Rivas Scholarship
Culinary Institute of America Scholarship
Carlos Rosario Staff/Faculty donated funds to establish a scholarship in memory of our beloved teacher,
Mary Reed Rivas who passed away this school year.
A $1,400 scholarship was awarded to a Carlos Rosario School student.
UPR Alumni & Friends
The University of Puerto Rico’s Alumni and Friends Association
awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a Carlos Rosario School student.
Anonymous Scholarship
An anonymous donor awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a Carlos Rosario School student.
Culinary Institute of America Scholarship
The Culinary Institute of America awarded a $12,500 scholarship to
a graduating Culinary Arts student.
