Carlos Rosario School promotes a sense of civic
duty by encouraging students to give back to both
the school and the community in a variety of
ways. During the 2010-2011 school year, students
contributed to the following organizations and events:
•DC Central Kitchen (Food preparation)
•Food and Friends (Food preparation)
•Martha’s Table (Clothing donation)
•Carlos Rosario School (Tutoring, community clean
up, cultural event planning, school beautification)
•Maury Elementary School (Cooking demonstration)
•Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington
RAMMY event (Food preparation and service)
•DC Public Charter School Board STAR’s event (Food
preparation and service)
•L’Arche (Annual Walk for the Homeless)
•Capital Area Food Bank (Food drive)
•Children’s National Medical Center (Toy drive)
•Washington Convention Center Fancy Food Show

The total number of volunteer hours contributed by
the students was 1,740!
