By Violi Calvert TRINITY, the daughter of known Central Coast singer June Young, was one of the youngest singers who made it through the competition with her rendition of ‘Loving You’ which was chosen by the producers for the blind audition. Trinity, then only 8, passed three sets of audition last October and was selected by the producers in the top 100 the following month. One of the judges, Joel Madden, called Trinity “the whistler” for the whistling tone in her voice especially when she hit high notes. Trinity went for a battle round but did not proceed through the next round after that. Nevertheless, she relishes her experience. “My best part of The Voice Kids was meeting new friends and getting to see the Madden brothers, Delta and Mel B,” she said.  “My classmates said ‘well done.’ Some people from other grades asked, are you from The Voice Kids? My schoolmates congratulated me. I dislike that I had to go but I still had fun.”  Trinity said she would like to join a singing contest again in the future. “We are extremely proud for Trinity’s achievement on The Voice Kids. To be even chosen as one of the top 100 then top 45; and one of the official members of Team Madden was beyond amazing for an 8-year old,” mother June said.   June shared that a day before Trinity’s The Voice Kids battle round, Trinity’s grandmother [husband Patrick’s mother Pamela] passed away. Her Grandma was already in a critical condition during Trinity’s filming of the battle.  Trinity was born in Singapore. She lived in Indonesia and moved to Australia with her family just before starting Kindergarten. She has a 3-year old brother Noah. She studies piano and does swimming. She won singing competitions in Gosford and Newcastle before joining The Voice Kids. Trinity was the only awardee under Filipino Language to get a Highly Commended for Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Student Achievement in the whole NSW last year. Trinity will perform in the 26th Grand Fiesta Kultura to be held at Fairfield Showgrounds on October 6.
