CFC ANCOP Australia sent its third batch of ANCOP Ambassadors for a 10-day immersion program in the Philippines last January .
The group which is composed of 11 volunteers from across Australia spent time visiting ANCOP scholars and their families , participating in weekend tutorial programs in public schools , visiting an orphanage in Bulacan , a resettlement community in Marikina and building houses for the typhoon victims in Leyte and Cebu .
ANCOP is acronym for Answering the Cry of the Poor and the social ministry of Couples for Christ Global Mission Foundation Inc . ANCOP immersion programs are open to organised groups and private individuals who seek to experience transformation in their lives through serving the poor . The seats , completed under the S . E . A . T . Project , were made by Australian students from the Coreen School Blacktown late last year .
The S . E . A . T Project stands for ‘ Sustainability , Education , Art and Teamwork ’ and is a social initiative and arts based educational product that educates children in social values , sustainability and encourages community engagement . The gift-giving for the Filipino orphans was facilitated by the S . E . A . “ The students were blown away by the fact that something that they made in their school was in another country ”, said John Williamson the implementing teacher of the S . E . A . T Project at Coreen School Blacktown .
