A whole new world … for Jared
“ Don ’ t walk , run !”
That jolted Year 7 Jared Emmanuel Lesaca and within seconds he was up the stage . Within minutes he had become a celebrity of sorts .
The call to run came from international singing sensation Lea Salong at her packed concert at the Sydney Opera House last month .
In one special portion of her show , Lea called on 12-year old Jared whose big dream was to sing at the Opera House . One Voice singing school director Tina Bangel had earlier sent a text message to Lea about Jared , a ward of Tina .
Legendary Lea was ready to play the game and fulfil a child ’ s wish .
“ Oh there you are !” Lea blurted out when the light focused on Jared .
On stage , star-struck Jared sang ‘ A Whole New World ’ with Lea – a duet to remember , an experience of a lifetime .
“ At first I felt very nervous … I felt like a celebrity for a few minutes , it was really a wonderful experience ,” Jared said .
Jared ’ s performance with Lea went viral too – more than 20,000 views within a few days .
The concert was a dream fulfilled not only for Jared , but for Lea Salonga as well .
The iconic singer had said that performing at the Sydney Opera House would be a dream come true .
As for Jared , he can walk with ease now and with more confidence . For sure , he can indeed sing on the big stage .

STELLAR ADDICTION
‘ Unbroken ’… and unstoppable
The Stellar Addiction band launched a single – “ Unbroken ” – last month with a music video . Things are getting busy for the rising five-member band which continues to gain a solid base of fans after having toured parts of Europe and Japan over the past two years .
This year , the band is looking forward to a second tour in Japan and another in Mallorca Spain . Powered by vocalist Stacey Abdila , Stellar Addiction is gaining a foothold in the fan base including the LGBTQ + community especially after their successful show at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Event last year .
Stellar Addiction aims to use their music and performance opportunities as a platform to raise awareness for minority groups and social issues . The band believes that all shows they play should be a safe space for the LGBTQIA + community . They aim to inspire youth and work with as many kids as they can through their involvement with The Blue Guitar Project to encourage them to follow their dreams .
With Stacey in the band are Tom Hockey and Goldwyn Tagud on guitars , Danny McMartin on bass and Tanya Carboni and drums .
The band successfully released their first music video last year – ‘ Are Your Ready ’.
“ We ’ ve got plans for an album later this year and big tours ( Japan and Spain ) – really big plans for this year ,” says member guitarist Goldwyn , a Pinoy from Woodcroft .
The new single ‘ Unbroken ’ ( you can watch it on YouTube ) is getting positive reviews from listeners . “ A brilliant piece from all – style , substance , musicality – it has it all ,” says one post . “ This is absolutely a killer ! Keep the tunes coming !”
