Anchor Knowledge Center CONFIDENCE IN CODE COMPLIANCE

CONFIDENCE IN CODE COMPLIANCE Hilti anchors are in compliance with the latest ACI and IBC codes The 2015 International Building Code (IBC) has been published and is being adopted across the United States. It references the 2014 version of the American Concrete Institute Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318-14) and while ACI 318-14 has been completely revised, the only significant change for anchor design is that “Anchorage to Concrete” has moved from Appendix D and is now in the full body of the code in Chapter 17. Note that the technical content of Chapter 17 has not changed. ICC-ES evaluation service reports (ESRs) for anchors are in the process of being updated to reflect recognition under the new building code. ESRs for Hilti anchor systems tested and evaluated according to AC193, AC308, AC60 and AC232 have been updated to reflect recognition under the 2015 IBC. An updated list of ICC-ES ESRs by Acceptance Criteria is shown below: AC193 (Acceptance Criteria for Mechanical Anchors in Concrete Elements) • • • • • ESR-1545 HSL-3 Heavy Duty Expansion Anchors ESR-1546 HDA Undercut Anchors ESR 1917 Kwik Bolt TZ Expansion Anchors ESR-2302 Kwik Bolt 3 Expansion Anchors ESR-3027 Kwik HUS-EZ and Kwik HUS-EZ-I Screw Anchors AC308 (Acceptance Criteria for Post-Installed Adhesive Anchors in Concrete Elements) • • • • • ESR-2322 HIT-RE 500 SD Epoxy Adhesive Anchors ESR-3187 HIT-HY 200 Hybrid Adhesive Anchors ESR-3574 HIT-HY 100 Hybrid Adhesive Anchors ESR-3814 HIT-RE 500 V3 Epoxy Adhesive Anchors ESR-3829 HIT-RE 100 Epoxy Adhesive Anchors AC60 (Acceptance Criteria for Anchors in Unreinforced Masonry Elements) • ESR-3342 HIT-HY 70 Hybrid Adhesive Anchors in Unreinforced Masonry AC232 (Acceptance Criteria for Anchor Channels in Concrete Elements) • ESR-3520 Hilti Anchor Channel and Hilti Channel Bolts ICC-ES ESRs for anchors approved using AC106 (Acceptance Criteria for Pre-drilled Fasteners (Screw Anchors) in Masonry), and AC446 (Acceptance Criteria for Headed Cast-In Specialty Inserts in Concrete) will be revised as the evaluation report is updated.
