New England Association of Schools and
Colleges (NEASC)
NEASC is the oldest educational accrediting body in the
US and serves more than 2,000 public and independent
schools, colleges, and universities in the northeastern
region of the US, as well as 220 American/international
schools in 68 countries through the Commission on
American and International Schools Abroad (CAISA). CAISA
promotes high quality education by developing and applying
standards that assess the effectiveness of nearly every
aspect of American schools operating abroad. To receive
a NEASC accreditation in the UAE, American Curriculum
schools must deliver content that closely reflects subjects
taught in American schools with the mission of delivering
high quality teaching and learning. In 2014, Dubai’s KHDA
signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to create a
partnership to facilitate the NEASC accreditation process in
Dubai’s American Curriculum schools. For more information

AdvancED
AdvancED is a nonprofit organization that conducts rigorous,
on-site external reviews of preK-12 schools and school
systems globally. It serves over 32,000 schools and school
systems across 71 countries. In addition to accreditation,
AdvancEd provides professional development and training
to teachers and school administrators to implement the
accreditation process and participate in the process
of continuously reviewing and improving education. In
2010, ADEC signed a memorandum of understanding with
AdvancED to provide accreditation to American Curriculum
schools in Abu Dhabi. For more information on AdvancED,

Middle States Association of Colleges and
Schools Commissions on Elementary and
Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS)
MSA-CESS accredits preK-12 public, private, parochial,
charter, non-degree granting career and technical
post-secondary institutions, special purpose schools,
supplementary education centers, learning services
providers, and distance education institutions.
The original MSA-CESS region focused on the US states of
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
and the District of Columbia. Through strategic partnerships,
the organization now reaches 85 countries globally
throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The
organization’s individual commissions on elementary and
secondary schools work directly with these specific types
of schools to provide accreditation. For more information,
