Feature Photography “ When I arrived in Johannesburg it was only for a day as myself and my tour group were headed to Cape Town. I did have one night in Johannesburg and we stayed by the airport and went gambling that night. We came back about a week later to do a proper tour. After being to Cape Town I felt I had a place to compare Johannesburg to now. The two cities are extremely different in look and feel. Johannesburg is a proper city like cities in the states such as New York or Detroit. I was excited to capture the rich history of the city while photographing as much as I could on a quick three day trip. One thing that was going on as we were there was that Nelson Mandela was very ill at the time and the press was everywhere by his home.
