ILPC Summer Workshop is a threeday intensive summer workshop June 16-18 at the University of Texas at Austin hosted by the Interscholastic League Press Conference ( ILPC ). They offer newspaper , yearbook , video editing , new media , design software , photography and adviser classes . Students have the option of staying in University dorms or commuting . Students take one class for the entire four-day period . The summer workshop provides a great opportunity for staffs to prepare for the upcoming year .

Journalism in July at the University of Texas , El Paso , is a one-week multimedia journalism workshop July 9-16 supported by the Dow Jones News Fund . Students participating in the workshop take their cameras , audio recorders and notebooks to downtown El Paso to get a look at the stories from the heart of the city . The students begin their training with lectures and demonstrations on traditional newsgathering and new multimedia skills taught by professors and area news professionals . Then they go into the field to apply their new skills in professional news reporting followed by video editing and web posting .

Mayborn Multimedia High School Workshop is a week-long residential workshop , July 21 to 27 at the University of North Texas in Denton , designed to give students a hands-on experience in storytelling in a multimedia world . This workshop is supported by the Dow Jones News
Fund . The first segment of the workshop will be held at the Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference where students will meet noted authors and aspiring writers . They will also tweet and write blogs . At the UNT campus in Denton students will be challenged even more and will create a multimedia production by the end of the week . Eligible students are incoming high school juniors , seniors and seniors who have graduated just prior to the workshop . It is open to Texas residents only .
