Adventure Outdoors Magazine Fall 2016 | Page 10

Welcome The Adventure Outdoors team and David-Jacobs Publishing Group are proud to introduce this 2016 fall issue of Adventure Outdoors Magazine. In this issue, you will find tips on how to tag the perfect 10-pointer, where to go to reel in the biggest bass of the fall season, and which national parks are top contenders for winter visits. We’re also celebrating the birthdays and history behind two very important military branches: The U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps. Look for our special Canadian feature as well, which dives head-first into our northern neighbor’s territories, and displays several worthy destinations for planning the perfect Canadian vacation for the outdoorsman. A special thank you goes out to Theresa Vail, an avid huntress and the host of NRA All Access, presented by Franchi, on Outdoor Channel. Theresa is known as the former Miss Kansas, an all-American woman who loves to hunt and fish, and who takes takes pride in her lifestyle and her homeland. Theresa provided us with an exclusive interview touching on these subjects, in which she recalls her childhood, time served in the military, and how her personal experiences have molded her into who she is today. Gratitude goes out to Susan Ebert as well, for her contribution of several great recipes in this issue. All of her recipes are original creations, and come from her new cookbook, The Field to Table Cookbook: Gardening, Foraging, Fishing, and Hunting. Susan is an outdoor enthusiast, cook, and writer. Susan and her work give a whole new meaning to the term, “farm-to-table.” Adventure Outdoors is all about finding new and unique ways to enjoy this world’s wide open spaces, no matter what activities you prefer. Whether you’re looking for a new trail to hike, or where to find a dog-friendly campsite, we strive to produce interesting content that keeps you “in the know.” Find what suits your style, and live each day with your best foot forward. We encourage you to try new things, explore the world, and never hold back from what makes your inner outdoor enthusiast smile. We hope that you’ll roam free, to catch the horizon on every border, in every season. Calling all wanderers: Adventure is waiting!
