Pub & Grub

Brooklyn Graves Sarah Smith
For ADR Magazine ’ s first issue , we decided to feature a local “ PUB or GRUB ” joint located in DFW . Since our readers are so awesome , we wanted to let you guys in on the places to go when you want some food worth heading outside your county lines for . Up first , is one of the most talked about newcomers to Magnolia Street in Fort Worth . And if you have ever ventured to the “ Southside ,” you will find tons of awesome bars , shops and food spots . Brewed sets out to offer a variety of farm to table fresh and unique items . And trust me , they are killin ’ it ! This country chic meets hipster restaurant / bar / café is taking the food experience to a whole new level . Not only do they brew amazing coffee , it is grown locally and served up in the most unique fashion . I am pretty sure Efrian , one of the morning baristas , made a leaf out of the froth ... LOVE IT ! Just by sitting here and watching the business flow , you can tell that this is the kind of place locals want to go . They come in , sit down , order a cup of joe , and start clicking away at their computers . Basically , they are doing what this place was intended for . But that ’ s not even the best part . The FOOD is why I am here and what I love about Brewed the most . The chef is John Kramer , but people around here
just call him “ Chef .” His hamburgers are made with meat fresh from the local butcher , cooked how you want them , and served on soft but hearty challah rolls . They are spread with a fresh homemade mustard crème and topped with delicious pickles , which are made in house . They call it “ flash pickling .” I call it “ YUM- MO !” Does it come with a side , you might ask ? Umm , yeah Duck Fat Fries !! This is the kind of fun , innovative food people want . And they offer a variety of other dishes , like chicken and waffles with maple thyme syrup , hand dipped donuts , and Scottish eggs . Not to mention , they change their menu up for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays . Because Brewed is all about fresh food , their menu also changes with seasons because , well duh , so does their produce ! I had been told that if I had a sweet tooth , I had to try some of their sweets . Apparently , their pastry chef is da bomb !! So I ordered two of her masterpieces . First , I tried the carrot cake bread pudding served warm and topped with cream cheese ice cream , which by the way is DELISH . Then , I had Brewed ’ s most popular dessert , Smores in a Jar . Talk about a perfect combo of rich and smooth ... BOOM ! ( Continued )
