1) Attire: Channel Your Favorite 90’s
Figure for Custom Invites
When it comes to 90’s decoration, it’s all
about references. The first thing you have
to do is to establish the dress code. Set that
stage for what your guests can expect by
jumping into character with a personalized
party invitation. Produce a lifestyle
photoshoot in character!
For your fit, look to purchase pre-made
pieces of your costume on Etsy.com or you
can always visit a local thrift store for vintage
items. Don’t forget to pull out your toys. Try
adding in gameboys, tamagotchis, walkmans,
beanie babies, pogs, Furbys, Troll dolls or
others to your shoot. Go full throttle!
Next, design, print and mail out themed
invitations. Feel free to upload them as
well via an electronic invitation platform
like Paperless Post or Evite. If you’d like to
go public with your party, upload it as a
Facebook event or Eventbrite page.
Encourage the dress code! For the guys,
provide examples to guests like Will Smith
(Prince of Bel Air), Kurt Cobain, Michael
Jackson or MC Hammer. For the girls, share
examples like Naomi Campbell, Cher (from
Clueless) or Gwen Stefani. For the groups,
bands are your oyster. Encourage pairs or
groups Destiny’s Child, Spice Girls, TLC, Boys
II Men or New Edition.
