LCSD Among the
Best in the State
Lauderdale County Schools is recognized as one of
the best districts in the state with data to support the
claim. As promised, the 2016 Accountability Results
were recently approved and our district has many reasons to celebrate. With four “A” schools and four “B”
Randy Hodges, Superintendent
schools, the work that has been put in is evident. Our
effort actually stretches over multiple years. While
other districts took a more conservative approach by
testing paper/pencil, we decided early to make the transition to online testing with
more rigorous standards. By doing so, we were able to work out issues and improve
infrastructures in anticipation of this year. The result has been a level of preparedness by our students and teachers to a much harder curriculum and state assessment. Lauderdale County Schools now ranks in the top 22% of districts in the state
at a level “B.” West Lauderdale High School ranks 15th in the state, and our three “A”
elementary schools, Clarkdale, Northeast, and West Lauderdale, rank in the top 10%.
The credit to our success is given to our students, teachers, administrators, support
staff, and supportive parents and community. With this current level of success, we
now set our goals on next year and continuing to improve to the next level. Our district has paved the way to make this a reality. Look for more great things to come
from Lauderdale County Schools.
