MCC / LCSD Play a Huge Success

Education continues to face uncertainty in terms of funding and maintaining four community schools is often a challenge . However , the Lauderdale County School District continues to demonstrate how well we manage in dif > icult times . The most recent example is the MCC / Lauderdale County School play . Through our partnership with MCC we have been able to provide students the opportunity to develop their talents and pursue their passions through the theater . Each year we continue to push our students and , they have certainly met the high expectations set . Last week ’ s performance of Kiss Me Kate was by far the most challenging musical we have ever done . Not only was the music more dif > icult , but also memorizing the Shakespearian dialogue was tough . I was so impressed with all of our performers . The talent we have in Lauderdale County is nothing short of amazing . I want to thank Dr . Todd Brand and Mrs . Jennie House for their tireless efforts in ensuring a quality performance each time our students step on stage . I Randy Hodges , Superintendent also want to thank the students who participated in this year ’ s play . Not only was it hard work , but also the time you put in to make the show a success does not go unnoticed . I am also very proud of our students that attended the school performances on Thursday and Friday . Your behavior was very respectful and truly the best it has ever been . Thank you to our principals and teachers for setting such high expectations . Whenever a play comes to an end , it is always faced with mixed emotions . Throughout the process , students from across the district come together , put aside the competitiveness between schools , and develop lifelong friendships . This is a testament to the culture of this district . Lauderdale County Schools is all about students and helping each to reach his or her potential .
