4 Corners A Publication of Lauderdale County Schools Volume IV Issue 9 April 2017 LCSD Prepares for FY 2018 It is hard to believe we are in the 1inal stretch for the 2016-2017 school year. It is during this time that we be- gin making preparations for the upcoming year. Part of that preparation involves budget planning. As a district we have certainly faced hard times regarding funding. FY 2018 will be no exception; we already know we will face a cut of approximately $995,000. We realize part of Randy Hodges, Superintendent the reason is a statewide trend of declining enrollment and know all schools will feel the result. However, there is one thing for certain…We will survive! In fact, Lauderdale County School District not only survives, but also continues to thrive because of our talented and compassionate people. We know the success we have is because of the work you do to reach each student, regardless of the challenges. For that reason, this district will continue to be successful no matter the circumstances we face. We celebrated Administrative Professionals’ Day on April 26, 2017. I hope you will take the time this week to thank these individuals for what they do. Their role in this district is vital, as they are often the 1irst face an individual sees. We thank them for their dedication! The week of May 8-12, 2017, is Teacher Appreciation week. As I have stated many times, there is no replacement for a quality classroom teacher. It is during this week that we honor you for your service and commitment.
