So people think they can walk in and treat an artist a different way where they wouldn ’ t do that before . When I was a kid I wouldn ’ t walk into a shop and tell an artist how to do his job . I wouldn ’ t even think about it but now you have a bunch of experts .
That pretty much happens with any show . Things get more expensive too because of demand . Other than that it ’ s positive . I had a conversation with a friend , pretty well known artist , and he said if it was him he wouldn ’ t do it . I guess if you ’ re set maybe it could hurt your reputation but it all depends on what clients you want . After Tattoos After Dark , the tattoos I was asked for were super trendy , not that I did them , just saying that ’ s what the majority of inquiries were . A lot of Pinterest popular tattoos . There ’ s money there but I had been tattooing over 10 years and you want people to come to you for your style if that makes sense . So that ’ s what I ’ ve been doing the past few years , my style . Don ’ t you want to have a happy artist excited to do a tattoo . Sooner or later they ’ re gonna get another tattoo and I bet 95 % of them will think “ I should have gotten something bigger , something I really wanted , why did I get THIS ?” At that point they can keep it or get something bigger and cover it up .
