I never came out of pocket to anybody . I ’ ve always had the utmost respect for any artist in the industry who ’ s doing even if he ’ s horrible or bitter , I always gave artists respect . The whole thing about me is my ambition . I ’ m always pushing to be something more , and I love to laugh , I hate to be miserable , I hate to be in the convention so serious and you can ’ t say hi to anybody . If something is funny I ’ m gonna laugh . I love comic books , I love cartoons , I love to laugh , I love to smile , and have people around me and have people say that Poch is funny or see me and get excited . That ’ s the person I am , so before I got my name , as soon as I moved out here , I ’ ve always been that guy “ That ’ s Poch , you can go over and ask him anything ” but as soon as I got with Roman and people started seeing my work , it was like “ Holy Shit , he ’ s good !” Everybody thinks I moved to California and I got better . No , I ’ ve always had it in me but as soon as I left New York where it was so suppressed because in the Bronx , you know how it is , it ’ s the same thing , the names , the praying hands , the beads , the same thing over and over again and I came to Cali I told myself I ’ m not gonna do the same thing over and over . I ’ m gonna show everything I ’ ve got and when I started showing my color portraits , everyone was like “ Oh my God , he does those too ?” I ’ ve always done them but never really had a chance to do them in New York .

This is why I like your magazine Steve , I ’ m a real dude , I don ’ t sugar coat anything , if I say something I stand behind it , even if it causes drama , I don ’ t care . Now everybody that ’ s been on Ink Master I love . I know them all personally . What ’ s crazy is the guys that won that show , I ’ m their favorite artist .
