Tell me a little about your background . I grew up in the south of England . I started getting into tattooing when I was really young ; maybe like 13 or 14 . My dad had tattoos and my grandpa had tattoos , so it was always something I was interested in . I went to art school for 6 years in Winchester . The day that I graduated I went to my friend ’ s shop and I told him to give me an apprenticeship . I didn ’ t really give him much of a choice . He said yes and that ’ s kind of where it started .
So you ’ ve been interested in art as long as you can remember ? Yeah , definitely . I ’ ve always loved art . I chose art as my subject of option in school then went on to art school . I ’ ve been drawing since I can remember , really . I never really thought I ’ d get into drawing or make some kind of career of it . Actually I really didn ’ t have that much confidence with it . When I was younger there was always some really talented kids in our school . I guess I just kind of got lucky , maybe .
What was it about tattoos that piqued your interests ? I guess it was because it was out of the ordinary and I was definitely not really an ordinary kid . All of my friends had piercings and tattoos . We all wore black and listened to punk rock . It was just us rebelling against everyone and anyone and just doing whatever the hell we wanted . I think being a tattoo artist back then , not so much
