The Licensed Official’s Committee would like share that we
had our second AMHA Judges Clinic. Our first was last fall
in Florida. This year four of our committee members met
in Denver, Colorado on October 7 & 8, 2016 to conduct
the AMHA Judges Clinic. Committee members were Laura
Mullen, Al Bulgawicz, Harry Elder and Lonnie Perdue. This
seminar was in connection with seminar held by AMHR/ASPC
on Saturday, October 9, 2016.
During our
seminar, seventeen
judges attended,
eight completed
their six year
interview, and four
new judges were
given the closed
book test and were
interviewed. Jon Wolf was the facilitator of this training seminar
for all the attendees. During this time questions were addressed
concerning judging the Obstacle Classes, Jumper/Hunter,
Driving & Halter classes. Judges were very interested in the
new halter classes for Stock Horses. We are looking forward for
this information to be added to the 2017 AMHA rule book.
These two seminars were presented at no cost to the AMHA as
the LOC Committee members paid their own way.
Other meetings for the LOC committee will be offered at the
Color Breed Council in Tulsa, Oklahoma in February, 2017
and at the AMHA Annual Meeting and Convention in Las
Vegas, Nevada, February 23-26.2017.Please feel free to express
your thoughts and concerns to the LOC Committee.
