is the president of The Reva and David
Logan Foundation. Based in Chicago, the foundation is
a substantial program contributor to the Logan Center
for the Arts at the University of Chicago, and invests
heavily in investigative journalism in the U.S. and
Europe.
, an editorial consultant for independent
documentary filmmakers, facilitates the Bay Area
Video Coalition’s National MediaMaker Fellowship.
She was executive producer for documentaries at Al
Jazeera America and senior producer of the network’s
investigative series Fault Lines, winner of an Emmy, a
Peabody, and several Headliner Awards. Her recent
film, THE BALLAD OF FRED HERSCH, premiered at Full
Frame in 2016.
is the author of five books, including
the award winning All Governments Lie: The Life and
Times of Rebel Journalist I.F. Stone. The documentary
ALL GOVERNMENTS LIE: TRUTH, DECEPTION AND
THE SPIRIT OF I.F. STONE, based in part on her book,
features todays’ followers of the 20th century famed
investigative reporter. Her research uncovered 5,000
FBI documents hounding I. F. Stone. MacPherson also
was a long time reporter for the Washington Post.
of WGBH has reported on human
trafficking in southern New England, the Boston
Marathon bombings, Whitey Bulger, carbon offset
schemes, police shootings and race, the Occupy
movement and the fishing industry in New England,
among other topics. On WGBH-TV, he is a regular
panelist for Basic Black. He is a Senior Fellow with the
Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism.
